Code Lyoko Evolution prop sold

Hello everyone!

A very brief bit of news!
The more informed of you would have noticed that, about 2 weeks ago, Norimage put the keyboard they used for the Supercomputer in the series on eBay, with a certificate of authenticity from Norimage. We didn't relay the news in order to avoid any false bidding that would incur. The bids are still coming in with little time to go...

A few seconds ago, the keyboard from Code Lyoko Evolution, on which Marin Lafitte in Jeremie's skin typed, was sold by Norimage to a lucky buyer for the tidy sum of 281.11(excluding shipping)!

Aside from this rather anecdotal happening, the prop being sold confirms what we've already more or less guessed: there certainly won't be a season 2 of Code Lyoko Evolution... As even Norimage is beginning to get rid of its props.

That's all for this evening! Kisses!

5th Birthday! Special Future Video

Today, we celebrate the 5th anniversary of the most well known simulation of the code lyoko supercomputer interface : the IFSCL!
In the last news, you've been informed that some things were still to be validated before giving you this news, and now, here we are, all of the things I wanted to be sure about are okay, so I can give you that video, made with love, for you:

After watching this video, here's a small recap :

As you might have understood, the IFSCL is currently being entirely remade, directly under the Unity3D engine.
If the version 2.6.2 was already a huge gap in terms of technology (it was an emulation of the flash game under the unity engine, kinda like nintendo 64 emulation on pc if you like), but this time, everything is re-coded. Lots of animations & graphism have also been remade and updated to fit in with the new engine.

Obviously, changing so many things can't be without consequences, one weak point, IFSCL missions (campaign mode) won't come back before a while, because they're slowing down IFSCL development too much. (It's like redoing tutorials again and again, not productive at all, and I'm not talking about the translations & the debugging...)

Big features review :

  • Better overall quality - obviously, with a new shiny engine comes new possibilities, in terms of FX, cameras and more...
  • Better performances for average hardware - Of course you still need a good computer and a good graphic card, (the game only grows up in content, hey!) but the use of this hardware by the game is more efficient than ever
  • 3D Tactical Map! Never been closer than before from the show!
  • 3D Lyokowarriors transfer process! Same as above, if some of the original models are ripped from the original WII game, they've been updated alot to fit in with the new engine, while the older costumes will also need to be completely modelized.
  • 3D LyokoMap! - already visible as a false 3D in the IFSCL menu, this time, it will be real 3D!
  • A new Xana AI, battle and traveling system updated, due to the new 3d tactical map, things will be greatly upgraded!
  • Better resize system also. The interface will fit better to different screens ratios.
  • 32/64 bits versions, 64 bits users will benefit from the full use of their processor!
  • Progressive translations : with the pause of the campaign mode and the new system, new (while incomplete) translations of the game will be easier to add. Whathever is the langage.
  • Windows & MacOS Compatibility (maybe linux..), anyway, macOS returns! But still, the performances won't certainly be as good as a windows.
That's all for now, thanks for watching and reading, and please react on the forum, the facebook page and so on to show your support, thanks :)

As a bonus : the long awaited Immu's room's code for 2.6.2 (now pretty much unrepresentative of the future of the game, but anyway...) : amigoodman

A surprise from Norimage...

Hello everyone!

A bit of news from Code Lyoko Evolution (which is pretty rare!!)! Norimage posted a little message on their Facebook, directed at fans of Code Lyoko Evolution. A surprise is announced for Tuesday at 8PM. Here's the post in question!

So, our advice: don't get your hopes up too high! However, it seems very likely to us that this little surprise will be none other than the famous last Finding of Dude Dudu, which we've had available for some time now.

>> Follow this link to see it [in French] <<

How did Dude Dudu release this without Norimage's knowing? He found this video on Norimage's Vimeo account and, surprised at how little it spread, grabbed it. In the end, we noticed that the video was taken down from the Vimeo account in question. So is this what they're referring to? Or does Norimage have some other surprise up their sleeves? Come back Saturday to find out.

Have a nice week.
Thanks to Zaryu for passing on the information.

>> Edit on the 24th of March <<

As we guessed, this surprise was the Jim video.
Norimage has already "revealed" the surprise. The only good point: a subtitled version is available for the international community - click the CC button on the right!

A small news on the most popular game of Lyokofans, the IFSCL.

It's been awhile since the release of the last version, and not a lot of news have been published about this code lyoko game since.
The reason behind it was that I was mostly focusing on the project, what was possible, and what wasn't.
IFSCL future wasn't really bright, many development problems and issues were hard to overcome, but I've decided to try something, something that was really risky but which worked! And you won't have details right now about it, theere is still some things to overcome.
Anyway, it's a brand new shiny future that is now open for the IFSCL, the shiniest in the project's history!

IFSCL dev is back on track, slowly, but surely.
The content of the next version can't be unveiled right now, neither a release date, but it will take months (2015 is, at least, a certitude).
The birthday date isn't particularely targeted as a release date (13 of april), but you will, at least for this date, (or before), get your hands on a video, unveiling IFSCL plans from 2015 to 2016, to know exactly what's going on.

By the way, here's the render of the translated lyoko warriors I had done for the last version :

In the meantime, completely linked to lyoko, not exactly to the IFSCL, you will soon discover something brand new, and believe me, you will love it!
A trailer will soon be posted about this mysterious project !

See you next time!

Exploration in the CLSG!

Good evening!

This evening, a quick news post to inform you that yesterday afternoon, the CLSG got an important update. Long awaited, occasionally teased, Sector 5 has finally made its appearance in the game, to the utmost happiness of the dedicated players, or even those who have been waiting to decide whether to contine playing.

For now, we won't expand on the details. An update to the CLSG section will certainly arrive in a few weeks. We can already however list the main elements:

- The final locked areas of the Forest and Desert Sectors have been put online.
- Carthage truly makes its appearance. It presents itself as a special Sector: a sort of infinite level where the player can progress and climb through stages of increasing difficulty.
- Creepers, the forgotten monsters of the CLSG, appear in this Sector.
- Sector 5 has an immense number of new equipment to unlock!
- The character stats have been rebalanced to guarantee more equality faced with the new Carthaginian ordeal.
- Finally, some bugs were fixed.

There you have it. So, the selling of the Code Lyoko licence was useful for something.

Have a nice afternoon and a good holidays for those concerned!

The return of GI-Jim...

Hello everyone.

Two news posts in two days... A nice breath of fresh air for the nostalgic ones. Shut in his secret base, Dude Dudu continues to look for the Ultimate Finding that will plunge the world into chaos. Yesterday, he found a prototype of this finding, hidden in the darkest depths of the net.

And so we reveal to you today, the 101st lost finding...and it's worth your time.

It's a short film. It's created by Norimage and was created while Code Lyoko Evolution was being filmed.
Was it just a joke between the artists that a member of the crew decided to finalise once Moonscoop was dead?
Was it a bonus reel that Norimage kept hidden away for eventual broadcasting...or to be a DVD bonus feature?
Was it something else?
It's hard to say...

This short film is centred on the largest mystery within the Lyokosphere. No, not "Where is Anthea Hopper", not "Why did XANA go to the dark side". Not even "Why did nobody in the world ever die before a return to the past?"

The real question is what all Lyokofans have asked one time or another:

"What is underneath Jim's band-aid?"

Before leaving you to watch, I can already hear the purists thinking: "Bah! Norimage is CLE... And CLE is crap... So this teaser isn't canon!"!
Don't worry about that! This short film is truly excellent: on one hand, thanks to the excellent Bastien Thelliez, unanimously known as CLE's biggest success... But also and especially thanks to the few winks to the Code Lyoko cartoon that we find in this bonus clip... References that we would loved to have seen in CLE.

Well, enough talking, here's the video and thanks Dudu!

The CLSG in Uncharted Territory...

Hellow hellow hellow...

Well, how emotional! It's simultaneously the end of a long silence (the month of December was the first month without news for a long time... :/) and the opportunity to tell you many things we haven't yet said...

Firstly a "Happy New Year"? We would have gladly wished you it earlier but almost the entire team was reunited under the Eiffel Tower for an enchanting New Year! (Ok, it was cold, we had sore feet and the lousy travelling sellers were selling at exhorbitant prices) but we were much too busy among ourselves to get online.

A "Je suis Charlie" should also be said? Unfortunately, the major part of the site felt more like "Je suis Yumi" (in memory of her tragic exit from the Fan War faced with terrorist techniques by the other camps). But I'll stop myself there to avoid the accusation of apologising for the terrorism. Anyway, it was surely an attack by XANA. Who other than a xanafied person could be so stupid as to drop their ID card in order to carry out what would eventually be a shaky scenario befitting an episode of CLE?
#Plot theory.

We also could have wished happy birthday to a member of the team, namely Icer... But we preferred to preserve the sanctity of the final Dudu news from the scent of such frolicking as on the forum.

ANYWAY!

Lyokofans unfortunately and obviously haven't seen much to sink their teeth into at the start of 2015... (But what better than an old series that's getting older but we still take pleasure in watching as we too grow old...).

Except for players of the CLSG! We announced a few months ago that development of the game had been picked up again, after the Code Lyoko licence had been bought and settled. And here is the first teaser shot that shortly await the players...

Sector 5 will soon make its appearance in the CLSG. Also a way of reminding us that the old series seems to be preferred over its inheritor CLE, as a poll was held with the intention of letting players choose between Sector 5 and the Cortex for the next update. The veterans seem to have won out over the newbies.

This image was published on the CLSG's Facebook page. On the other hand, no date was announced...

Thanks to our players who continue to watch the game's progress for us, especially Vivi!

On this note,
Have a nice winter!

The final findings of Dude Dudu #100
Posted by Etienne on 11/30/2014 at 16:25 (8 commentaires)  Ecrire un commentaire sur cet article  Imprimer cet article  Envoyer cette article à un ami
Hello everyone!

Today is the 100th and final finding of Dude Dudu. After more than two years of good, loyal service, the final findings are finally revealed. But to celebrate this issue, we're revealing some files that were previously hidden. One thing's for sure, there's something here for everyone.

And we'll start with some final posters. They come from various magazines, including Code Lyoko 2.0.

This time we continue with a promotional related product. Campanile and Moonscoop released these cards with the main characters on them. An old release, dating back to 2006! They're impossible to find these days.

Next, an advertisement dating back to season 4 that was aired on Canal J.

For fans of Code Lyoko Evolution, here's a final, very short making of video that shows some shots done on a greenscreen to create the factory scenes.

And finally, saving the best til last, here is the final finding, and certainly not the least: a never-before-seen report PDF on Code Lyoko! This report shows us each step in the creation of the 3D part of an episode of the series. Storyboards, sketches, creations and modelling of each element. Pure gold!

<-- Click here to see the PDF!

And there you have it! That was the last finding! Two years of discoveries and never-before-seen gems that have at one point or another taken the hearts of all the series' fans, from the casual ones to the most devoted. And if you thought that Dude Dudu has revealed all of his treasures to you, you'd be wrong. Dude Dudu had and still has other findings in his reserves... (Like the superb lithograph I'll give you a preview of in the logo below. It's a piece of which only 100 copies were made and signed by Tania Palumbo. I went to hell and back trying to find one, so good luck to anyone trying to find the 99 others!)

And there you have it, that's the end of the findings of Dude Dudu...
And the end of the updates to CodeLyoko.fr's media database.
We've done the best we can to give you an exceptional reserve for a fan community.
We hope you've enjoyed it!

Huge thanks to Immu for the banner.
