The factory in real life

The factory where our heroes regularly go to virtualise onto Lyoko seems to be largely inspired by the old Renault factory on Île Seguin (on the Seine), a factory that was unfortunately destroyed at the end of 2004. Check it out for yourselves...

[Quick history] [Geographical location] [And it's even more striking in the pictures...] [What became of Île Seguin?]

Quick history

1926: Factory opened
1992: Factory closed
2004: Factory demolished
2007-2017: Urban planning and reconversion projects to turn the island into a cultural centre: "La Seine Musicale."
For more information, see news articles in the last section at the bottom of this page!

Finally, for those who are curious, you can watch this historical documentary on the factory between 1960 and 1992 (in French), which recounts the life of the last generation of workers at the factory.
