Hello everyone!

Yet more lovely images today, and conceptual ones at that! Indeed, here are 10 images grouping the integration of 2D elements onto a background as well as character colour tests (with a very...original Milly!).

Have a nice day on codelyoko.fr

Hi all

Today, the Renders & HD Images section receives a new category. Because indeed, even if the "Earth" background art category exists, this isn't yet the case for the "Lyoko" art! As a reminder, these "Lyoko" backgrounds, like the "Earth" ones, aren't simple screenshots from episodes of the series but images created exclusively for the distribution and promotion of the series.

Background art of 5 Sectors, the inside of towers and the Digital Sea through several seasons; these are the 28 images making their debut in the "Lyoko" background art category!

See you next Sunday for some heavy stuff on codelyoko.fr!

 Hello all!

Today, we have storybords on the menu of this week's findings. 4 storyboard pages that were used to create episode #70 - Skidbladnir, showing the discussion our heroes had in the park about the creation of the vehicle!

Have a nice day on codelyoko.fr

Chronicle of a translation #16

Hello everyone!

We've now given you books 1 and 2 of the Chronicles in English, and we continue our weekly schedule! The heroes' epic adventure now continues on CodeLyoko.fr through the Code Lyoko Chronicles' third book: "The Return of the Phoenix".

Our translators, backed by the rest of the "Chronicle of a translation" team, push on. Unfortunately due to technical difficulties we could not make an update last week, but this week, as a world first in English, discover the prologue and chapter 1 of book III: "X.A.N.A.'s Fear".

[The Return of the Phoenix]
[Last version: Prologue & 1 chapter]
Translated by Kelsey

As you will have noticed from our first two books, the following steps have been taken to make sure that our final product looks as much like the real thing as possible:

- A layout that's almost identical to that in the original novels.
- Use of fonts in the original novels.
- The presence of (when the time comes) coloured illustrations in high quality that have been adapted into English.
- The presence of icons at the start of every chapter, scanned from the Italian versions and retouched for an optimal rendering.

Finally, we remind you of the section of the site that's completely dedicated to the Chronicles. You can notably find there a gallery containing images from the first two books and which has been updated with illustrations translated into English.
Also, our French colleagues are of course working on translating book 4 at the same time, available on the French version of this news post. Follow Jim!

To conclude, for those who haven't already hopped on the bandwagon:

[Book 1] - The Underground Castle
[Book 2] - The Nameless City

Chapter 2 will be titled: "Secret Agent W."

Have a nice read...
Until next Monday on CodeLyoko.fr!

Hello everyone!

Today, we have without a doubt the shortest video ever in the entire history of Dude Dudu! This video is a clip that has never been aired of Code Lyoko from season 3, but before any more explanation, let's watch the video.

So then *cracks knuckles*, where did this video come from? Because seeing Aelita travel through a tower to reach Sector 5 isn't exactly common. Actually, this clip was a promotional clip bought and created specificially for a 2006 advertisement. Do you remember the Code Lyoko card game? Did you know about the cards being included in P'tit Louis products in France? And the commercial aired for this then? No? Well, this should clear things up. Because yes, this clip was used to promote the Code Lyoko card game!

Mystery solved, have a good day on codelyoko.fr!

Hello everyone,

Today we have a rather special finding. There's nothing exceptional about it, but it remains intriguing at least. This week's finding was an advertisement for Code Lyoko dating back to 2008, and in it, we can spot the Code Lyoko Reloaded logo in the season 2 opening.

(sorry for the poor image and sound quality of the video)

Have a nice day everyone!

Hello everyone!

Today is renders day! With 10 new renders and not just plain old ones: new renders of monsters, a superb rare render of the group dating back to Garage Kids! As well as another rare render: Earth William from season 4, and finally a new category of renders: secondary characters, starting off with our lovely old Jim, Sissi and Herb in season 4 attire, the Subdigitals and finally, the one and only Franz Hopper!

Have a nice day on codelyoko.fr

Hello all.

A year to the day after Code Lyoko Evolution officially debuted on France 4, today, let's go back to the sources with good, beautiful and heavy stuff: a compilation of magnificent promotional images of Code Lyoko and Code Lyoko Evolution. By "promotional images", I mean either posters made to promote the series (such as "CLE, the new series, coming soon to France 4"), or images created especially to be used as series promo (such as our heroes in a fight on Lyoko, but not a screenshot). See for yourself. ;)

The largest file of all time!

Hello everyone! Happy New Year!

We're not going to start the year with best wishes, resolutions and all that. That'll come later in the days to come! Before turning towards the future, we have to take a look back at the past. The year 2013 was very rich. A new season (whether it was appreciated or not is up to you), the finalisation of our site which is now all lovely and complete (albeit with a lot of translation work still to go!), a more mature and grown-up community life, and therefore more intense and creative. In brief, many good things.

Before definitively turning the page on 2013 and storing it in its place on the shelf of the past, CodeLyoko.fr has concocted one last thing. We call it: The largest file of all time!

Do you think you know everything about Code Lyoko? Really? Let's do a little test!

Can you tell me in which episode William violently hit Jeremy?
Are you capable of telling me who Francesca is?
In which episode Mr Delmas personally handed back papers to the students?
In which episode Mathias Burel wants to kiss Anais Fiquet?
Or an easier one... Why William is annoyed at Yumi in episode 15 of Evolution?

None of those? Are you at least knowledgable about your cult lines?

In which episode Aelita says: "Jeremy, don't leave me!"?
In which episode Jeremy says to Aelita: "I've had enough of only seeing you three hours a week, so it's a no-brainer!"?
In which episode Jim says he was once a member of the Royal Air Force?

Nothing at all? How sad! So let's go to the file.

You know the episodes of Code Lyoko, before they were drawn (storyboard) and finalised (creation), are all written onto paper by the writers. It's what we call "scenarios" and those of the episodes of Code Lyoko seasons 1, 2 and 3 are available on CodeLyoko.fr (Episode Guide or Conceptual Documents page), in French. The French Evolution scripts are now also available, but alas we haven't gotten our hands on season 4's.

And then, you must know that between the episode written by the writers on paper and the episode that we saw on television... There are differences because the creators modified certain elements of the scripts! Sometimes elements are added, on the other hand, sometimes elements are edited or removed. It is in fact in the scripts that you'll find the responses to the questions above. And sometimes, it's worth the detour... Because the deleted scenes are often very mature ones ("violence" between the characters, "hot" scene between hormone-driven teens, etc...) censored because Code Lyoko is just a "cartoon".

So evidently, reading through over a hundred scripts to find the differences - in French, no less - takes an enormous amount of time. That's why we've done the work for you. We have created, over several months, a gargantuan file that lists all the changes between the scripts and the episodes. No need to look for them yourselves!

It remains a very long read, and translating it all is going to take ages, but there is a welcome page summarising the best changes in a best-of list that's richly decorated and in English! So we invite you to take a look at this page at least. To give you a different perspective on the whole of your series!

[From script to episode...]
Or
The largest file of all time!
