"I want to tell you about Yumi, Ulrich, Odd and Jeremy: students like any other, but only in appearance, because they discovered a secret passage that leads to the world of Lyoko. A parallel and virtual world, Lyoko is controlled by X.A.N.A., a supercomputer that decided to destroy Earth. Since then, they secretly transform into young virtual adventurers, and I, Aelita, am their guide in their fight to save our planet. But...SHH!!! I can't tell you any more than that." |

| | In 2007, the first of a Code Lyoko DVD collection hit stores, released by a subsidiary of Altaya. Each week a DVD containing three episodes was released, accompanied by a booklet. However, before this collection could be launched on a larger scale, Moonscoop first did a test run. The first of them were only made available in a few cities in France in order to test their success...
...but almost no publicity was done within these cities. What's more, none of the largest cities in France seemed to be tested; no trace of this collection in Paris, nor even in Lyon or Marseille. They were only available in Metz, Picardie and Alsace. As such, the test received poor results and Moonscoop cancelled production.

| Propotype for issue 5
Although only 4 issues were ordered for this collection, a cover for a 5th issue needed to be created to appear as advertising for prospective subscribers, featuring at the end of the 4th issue. The creators knew there probably wouldn't be a 5th issue, so they cheated by hiding the contents summary every time the cover was shown somewhere (hidden by a DVD or the pricing information). When we extract this image from the PDF, we can see the summary information is a copy-paste from issue 1, as you can see here, and the visual design is the only thing they changed. |

| | Somewhat rarer, Canada also got its own unique series of DVDs with new covers, menus and even bonus features never before seen in France. How is this possible, you ask? It's simple: while France ceased production of DVDs after the first season saw poor sales, Canada continued releasing more episodes from this season. This made it the first country to publish all of season 1 in French.
