Chronicle of a translation #8

Hello everyone!

After we officially kicked off the Chronicles translation project in English with book 1, in modestly excellent quality, the project now moves into a weekly release schedule! The heroes' epic adventure now continues on CodeLyoko.fr through the Code Lyoko Chronicles' second book: "The Nameless City".

Still working with Rhys Davies' translations, converted into PDF format and finished off by the "Chronicle of a translation" team, we continue on. This week, discover chapter 7 of book II: "The Interrogation".

[The Nameless City]
[Last version: Introduction, Prologue & 7 chapters]
Translated by Rhys Davies

For those who've never held one of the Chronicles in their hands, we can assure you that the following steps have been taken to make sure that our final product looks as much like the real thing as possible:

- A layout that's almost identical to that in the original novels.
- Use of fonts in the original novels.
- The presence of (when the time comes) coloured illustrations in high quality that have been adapted into English.
- The presence of icons at the start of every chapter, scanned from the Italian versions and retouched for an optimal rendering.

Finally, we remind you of the section of the site that's completely dedicated to the Chronicles. You can notably find there a gallery containing images from the first two books and which will be updated later on with illustrations translated into English as we get to them.
Also, our French colleagues are of course working on translating book 4 at the same time, available on the French version of this news post. Follow Jim!

To conclude, for those who haven't already hopped on the bandwagon:

[Book 1] - The Underground Castle

Chapter 8 will be titled: "The Man at the Door"
Grigory strikes...

Have a nice read...
Until next Monday on CodeLyoko.fr!

Hello everyone!

Today, we're going to have a look at Sector 5. Among all the seasons of Code Lyoko, the one that was promoted the most is incontestably season 2 with its large amount of new additions and teasers (new monsters, vehicles, new Sector...). The finding this week is an American English description of Sector 5 and its different locations.

Have a nice day everyone on codelyoko.fr

Actor interviews & galleries

Hello everyone!

It's been a long time, so here's a little bit of news dedicated to the actors this weekend.

First off, we have the actors' answers to some fan questions! During summer 2013, Code Lyoko Evolution was aired in Hungary. Hungarian fans had the opportunity to ask some questions of theirs to the actors via Megamax's Facebook, the channel that airs Evolution there. These questions were chosen from the bunch asked by the fans. Only Quentin Merabet and Bastien Thelliez have answered them for the time being. The answers were published on Megamax's Facebook a few weeks ago. Thanks to Rita, our Hungary contact, we have for you today the translaton.

In order to keep things organized, the translation was added to the Interview page which already contains the answers from some of the actors to fan questions from the France 4 forum. Follow this link to access it directly!

The Quentin and Bastien pages were modified to contain a link to this interview. We also updated several "Actor" pages to add/complete the alternative galleries! These are the galleries with images of the actors in roles other than from Code Lyoko Evolution. The Pauline and Marin pages had already been updated in the past. Now the pages for Diego, Mélanie and especially Quentin (with a very long gallery for Inquisitio) are to be done. With all that, the alternative galleries are all complete... up until their next roles!

Have a good weekend on CodeLyoko.fr !

Hello. As we said a few days ago, Code Lyoko Evolution is coming to Canal J. As you can guess, that means that trailers will come before then. True to our job in having the largest Media base of the series, CodeLyoko.fr presents to you, for those who don't have the channel and those who don't live in France at all, the chance to watch these trailers. There are a few versions: one per character, though none for Jeremy or Laura for now. Oh, and they're in French, of course.

And who ripped the 5 advertisements for you?

We did! =)

You can now find each trailer on our YouTube channel. Click on the character below to go to the videos.

Otherwise, we've created a compilation of the 5 trailers for download:

Also, the official Code Lyoko Facebook page has told us that Code Lyoko and Code Lyoko Evolution will be arriving in Turkey. It will be aired on Jojo Channel during December at around 4pm. Yet another market conquered in the name of the Code Lyoko licence.

And yet, no announcement about CLE in the USA, or any English-speaking country for that matter... It's difficult to see the future of the series clearly in the middle of everything that's happening!

Thanks to Dauphy for the rip and Dudu for the montage.

Our community's got talent #31

Hello everyone!

A slightly special news this week. After Kasux's resignation a while back, the "Creative Life" side of things has been reinforced with a new person. This fact is far from unknown, but that person is Lénaelle. Known on Gems Online on CodeLyoko.Fr, Manager of Project Lyoko 5, President of la Communauté d'Aelita (Aelita's Community) in the Guerre des fans (Fan War), talented graphic artist on the forum, a pain in the arse IRL and especially as brothel madam of CodeLyoko.fr: her reputation speaks for itself.

Administration leaving this promotion has nothing to do with the fact that Lénaelle has successfully stayed in the same room as 3 of 4 administrators of CodeLyoko.Fr (and according to the most well-informed, the 4th is expected during the Christmas holidays). Staff apologise for this small interlude that our most loyal members will be able to use wisely. We'll take advantage of it, for that matter, to mention the promotion of Oddye and Anneauthier to the rank of forum moderators following Apolyon's leaving.

It's therefore logical that with the arrival of our new Fanart Referent, the news this week is dedicated to fanart. No new entries to Gems Online for the moment. We're simply going to have a look at some nice artists who aren't specialised in drawing Code Lyoko. An opportunity for the eclectic Lénaelle to remind us that even if the series has a precise graphic Universe, in terms of fanart, there's something for everyone's tastes. So here are two creators who have a very different style to that of the series, but a very respectable one!

Here is RubyRedRabbit!
This artist has only done two fanarts of Code Lyoko...so they can easily go unnoticed. But since their two fanarts are rather nice, we're showing you them this afternoon. Note that they belong to the endangered species of Oddlita fans.

Then, we present to you: SpiderSayan!
Same as before: a number of less important Code Lyoko fanarts but a very particular style that was worth the mention!

[Their other pieces in their gallery]

There you have it!
We hope you've liked them!
Have a good weekend on CodeLyoko.fr!

 Hello everyone!

Today, it's the first DS game that takes its place of honour here, with no less than thirty conceptual images showing the modelling of 3 out of 5 Sectors: the Forest, Mountain and Ice with, between them, images from the chapter concerning episode 24: Ghost Channel.

Evolution arrives on Canal J...

Hello everyone!

This Saturday we're writing a little about the airing of Code Lyoko Evolution in French on Canal J.
Let's start with the necessary disclaimer. Many people in recent months have taken the TV guides as the absolute truth and have thus conveyed false information.
We haven't yet verified the truthfulness of the following information with our professional contacts, and as a consequence, we're taking it with a grain of salt. Be careful. Now to the news:

It was announced on a trustworthy source that Code Lyoko Evolution would air on Canal J in November 2012. It's obvious to say that the channel has taken its time. The first episode that will appear on the channel will be, of course, XANA 2.0. It will be aired on the 30th of November. Canal J has seemingly opted for a convoluted diffusion rhythm as 2 episodes are aired each weekend. A first Saturday at 8pm, a second Sunday at the same time... See the French version of this post for the full programme. Follow Jim!

But what's more surprising is what comes after. After two weeks, an episode will be aired each day...at 3:45am, starting at episode 9...

To summarise, a jump over 7 episodes from Sunday to Monday and then one episode per day in the middle of the night. In other words we probably shouldn't think too much of this schedule...but it should be mentioned as if it's true, episode 20 could well be aired for the first time in French next month...i.e. Friday the 13th of December at 3:45am...

Unless France 4 keeps the rights to air episodes first and Canal J starts from episode 1 after airing episode 18...
But what does this mean for the English-speaking fans, exactly? Well, I do believe I can hear the faint sound of the Subsonics drifting in the air...if you know what I mean.
To be continued...with a sceptical eye.
